Mass. ACLU Class Action Over Detention of Immigrants

Springfield, Mass. - Attorneys for the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts have helped launch a class action suit against the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Two named plaintiffs Clayton Richard Gordon and Preciosa Antunes filed a lawsuit at the US District Court in Springfield, following their detention by ICE agents earlier this year. Both are being held under a mandatory detention rule based on an interpretation of a Board of Immigration Appeals ruling.
