Mass Pirates
Members of the Massachusetts Pirate Party held a tribute to whistleblowers persecuted by the Government at Logan Airport on Saturday. Several protestors gather at Terminal E holding a sign honoring different whistleblowers, including Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning, and Glenn Greenwald. According to the party’s Facebook page, the demonstrators were asked to leave the airport, but no arrests were made.
Safe Driving Coalition
In a six hour hearing held at the State House on Wednesday, advocates called for legislators to pass the Safe Driving Bill, which would allow all qualified Massachusetts residents to apply for a drivers’ license regardless of one’s immigration status. Over 500 immigrants and supporters attended the hearing in support of the bill, which would address a major concern for undocumented immigrants living in the Bay State.
