PHOTOS: 10/25/14 Ferguson Solidarity March in Boston

BOSTON - Over one thousand demonstrators gathered in front of the Boston Police Department Area B2 station in Dudley Square on Tuesday evening to protest the failure of a St. Louis County grand jury to indict Officer Darren Wilson of the Ferguson, MS police department for the murder of Michael Brown, an unarmed Ferguson teenager, on August 9, 2014. The event was organized by Black Lives Matter Boston - an offshoot of the national Black Lives Matter movement that launched after the killing of Trayvon Martin in 2012. Following the initial rally, participants marched down Melnea Cass Blvd. toward I-93 in an attempt to access the highway and block traffic, but were stopped by Boston Police in front of the South Bay House of Correction. Some protestors then attempted to block highways at two other locations in downtown Boston. At least 33 people were eventually arrested on various charges, and were released the next day. Similar events were held in dozens of cities around the nation.
